Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh didn’t appreciate the dreams of Pakistani fans who wished to see the likes of Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
A fan on X, formerly Twitter, posted edits of where Pakistani stars were seen with renowned Indian players.
Babar Azam was in Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) jersey with Virat Kohli, Shaheen Shah Afridi in Mumbai Indians with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Rizwan in Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
“Dream for many Indian and Pakistani cricket fans....,” the user posted on X.
Harbhajan replied to the post stating that Indians have no such dreams and Pakistanis need to stop thinking about such things as well.
“No Indian have such dreams. You guys please stop dreaming. wake up now,” Harbhajan posted on his X account.
Remember, Pakistani players have not featured in IPL since 2008, its maiden edition, due to tensions between the governments of the two countries.
Earlier, it was reported that the PSL could clash with the IPL next year.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering three windows to hold PSL 2025 but among them, the most ideal one is clashing with IPL in April and May, as per the report.
Sources added that the PCB is pondering over the pros and cons of holding the league alongside IPL.
The second window is three weeks in February since the event can’t be held in March due to the ICC Champions Trophy, which will be hosted by Pakistan. However, that will clash with the ODI triangular series in Pakistan in February which involves New Zealand and South Africa as well.
The third window is around the Asia Cup in September 2025.
Further discussion on the window for PSL next year will take place at the next council meeting.
